Hi everyone I am new to this forum. I don't have my surgery date yet (St. Josephs, Hamilton) But all my appointments will be completed on March 2nd ill be having my Gastroscopy. (intro group class Oct/2017, group nutrition class, met with a nurse once, social worker, nutritionist, blood work, ECG completed). I was told that it would be over a year for my surgery but the appointments seem to be coming very quick. My question is what are the steps that I have left asides from meeting the surgeon? Any information on what my path looks like would be greatly appreciated.

Every clinic is a bit different. My clinic was Windsor with my surgery in Guelph. Best of luck to you. It was the best thing I ever did.

Do you have to do a sleep study? If so, that can take time to get into that. Once all your testing is done, the team usually puts in a recommendation for you, either it's send this patient on to meet the surgeon or, there's something else we need to work on first.

I just had my surgery through St. Joe's in Hamilton and from start to fini**** was 7 months.

Once you're approved things tend to move fairly quickly.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the quick reply. Sleep study is complete also. So far I haven't had to have follow up visits and overall health is great (according to my nurse) ð?'ª?. Seems like all the appt are coming fast now getting excited.

I see on your signature you had a 2nd dietitian meeting. Was there a reason for a follow up? Do they make tweaks and ask you back to see if you made the correct changes? Thanks again for responding. ?

Hi there!

I am currently going through Hamilton as well. I am done with all appointments except the pre- op class which is scheduled for March 1st. My surgery is scheduled for March 17th (how lucky for me it St. Patricks day). I started this journey almost a year ago.

It seems that you are ready to meet the surgeon next. The receptionist will call you for that. I had to wait about 2 months for that appointment after my internist meet and greet.

You're almost at the finish line of appointments!

Orientation- May 2017, Pre nutrition class- Aug 2017, Blood work- Aug 2017. RPN meeting- Sept 2017. Dietician and Psychiatrist Dec 2017. Internist- Dec 2017. Meet the Surgeon Feb 20th 2018. VSG surgery march 17, 2018 with Dr. Gmora
