I'm self employed and work from home, so I was back at work limited hours within a few days. I wouldn't recommend it if you can avoid it... but I would do it all over again cause anyone who knows me knows it's my personality. Lol

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. Choose happy.

I went back to work 3 weeks after surgery but I only went 1/2 days for the first week back. I found my energy level really lacking and my concentration was only good for a short period of time. At 4 weeks I was back full time.

I would say a lot depends on your job. I'm expecting to be off a minimum of 8 weeks. My job is very physical and I lift heavy, unpredictable loads. (As in people! I'm in nursing)

Plan for 6. It's never an issue to go back to work early but can be difficult to extend your time off once you give your employer a return to work date. I have a desk job and work from home most days. Thought I would be able to go back after 2 or 3!weeks but I ended up needing the full 6 weeks. Surgery went well but my blood pressure dropped after and I had zero energy. I took me 5 weeks before my blood pressure normalized and I had any energy.

Just to add to the discussion, I think it's a very individual thing.

I thought I'd be back to work in 2 weeks right as rain. Well, that didn't happen. I had a complication and that set me back. I truly expected to bounce right back. Maybe my age has something to do with it lol, but it's taking longer than I expected.

Although things are fine now and I'm progressing very well, my abdomen is still quite sore. It feels like pulled abdominal muscles. The incisions are fine and no internal pain, but I still have stuff going on in there and I'm 5 weeks post surgery.

Everybody's experience is different.

I was not a fast loser but who cares as long as you get there! I know the newbies check the trackers and the signatures so although I kind of lost track of how the rest of the weight came off, you should know that it was not fast and furious but it was slow and steady!

current BMI 24.7 that, my friends, is NORMAL!!! Strong is the new pretty!
