Optifast and energy

With all the recent talk of Opti struggles I'm curious what people's experiences have been energy-wise. I hadn't planned on taking time off while in the Opti phase but my job is very physical and I work midnights which means I'm exhausted at the best of times so I'm starting to get concerned about managing my job and Opti, not to mention my mood around my kids and husband!!

I'd love to hear how others have managed.

Thanks,

Karen

I found the first three days (especially day 2) challenging. I felt very sick and nauseous on Day 2 and then it all sorted out. I took some gravol and missed a couple of shakes that day, but by late evening I was feeling better and it never came back.

I didn't take any time off while on Opti and to be honest, I thought my energy level increased as I went along. I lost 15 lbs through the Opti process of 2 weeks and didn't feel any energy loss.

I'm on day 4 of Opti and today has been HARD. I am tired but not unbearably so. I haven't had a runny bum or constipation just normal bathroom habits.

I was super, super exhausted the first week. Just tired all the time. But it was way better for me to be working, gave me something to focus on and not spend all day thinking about wanting to eat. Even tired I would not take timeoff because of that.

I was on it a extended period of time. By week 2 I was tired. Real tired. But at the same time the fact that I was losing weight also energized me mentally. I wanted to keep going and I am at very well at night. I drank alot of tea.

I was going to school at the time so that was not very hard.

It is the hardest part of the whole journey, Opti. But once you get through it you can be very proud.

I think day 3 and 4 when I was detoxing was the hardest.

I was hangry the first two days... totally miserably hangry!!! Then it was much better.

Except for bowel problems. I will recommend to everyone: take a tsp of Benefibre in every shake starting with shake number 1. I was super regular before Opti and felt invincible. Oh boy!!

Energy was great though. I was so excited about surgery... I was on top of the world!! Opti was the easiest part of the journey for me... once I sorted out the bowel problems. :)

Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. Choose happy.

I was tired, as in I went to bed much earlier, but it wasn't unbearable and I've been able to work, and do everything else without any issues.

If anything, I'm more tired now because I stay up too late watching Olympics!!

I've found hitting week 2 that I was more tired, but I've also been trying to go to bed earlier, I've been PVR'ing the Olympics so I don't stay up too late.

Getting enough sleep and spacing the shakes seem to be the most important thing, along with the Benefibre.

Good Luck Karen You Can do this.

It's the getting enough sleep part that worries me. I don't get a whole lot at the best of times. But I think working will give me something to focus on. I'm looking forward to being off work to catch up on my sleep!
