Orientation Letter!
My husband wants to go, but we have two young children so he's my major resource to take care of the kids. We're looking into getting someone else to watch them so he can come.
Good luck!
I didn't prep for orientation, but I did bring an notebook to take notes. It was also a good place to write down questions to ask at my one-on-one appointments.
I did start a couple things to prepare prior to my appointments on the advice of a family friend who had the surgery. I started taking vitamin D, I gave up pop, and I cut out caffeine.
All of which were very helpful and helped prepare.

I don't know if every hospital is the same but with my letter for the orientation I was given a package for me and my doctor to fill out. I made sure to go to my doctor before the orientation and had her fill it out while I waited. I didn't want to take the chance that the hospital would be waiting from my doctors office to send it in. My next appts weren't too long after that so maybe it helped???
Good luck!

I am also a Hamiltonian. I started my quest in March 2017 when I had the Wharton medical clinic refer me. My orientation was in May 2017. All said and done, I meet with the surgeon later this month. So just coming up a year since I got the ball rolling. When I called the clinic last they stated that they were calling the December patients for March surgeries. With that being said, I could be looking at surgery in May or June.
If you can take your husband with you it would be beneficial to you later on. He can ask his own questions and be your moral support. I took my hubby with me and he now understands that it's the best possible solution for me and that I am not being superficial but it is deemed medically necessary.
Congratulations on your adventure!
