So I called the booking clerk again on Friday, left a message again, and waited yet again. Today I got my long awaited phone call to confirm my meet and greet with Dr. Hong. I couldn't be more excited! Has anyone dealt with Dr. Hong out of St. Joeseph's in Hamilton? Is he nice? attentive? something else?

Dr. Hong did my surgery. I liked him but I didn't see much of him. He did come to my bed before surgery to chat. He met my family afterwards and that was pretty much it. His fellow and residents take over after that.

A good experience. He is a good surgeon.

Thanks all for the reassurance. I?m glad dr Hong came so highly recommended. I would hate to have someone who is just looking for their next paycheque to explore my innards like he is going to. I feel much better knowing that he is top notch. But I will still check his credentials through the college of physicians and surgeons (just to ease the anxiety)

Just a heads up. When I met with Dr. Hong I was told at that time that it didn't mean that I would get him for my surgery. Any one of the team could end up being my surgeon.

When my surgery got booked, I asked who the surgeon would be and luckily it was his surgery day.

If you really want him, make sure you ask for him and get a date that is his surgery day.

Oooh, that is a great tidbit of info! I would hate to find out that all the prospective surgeons got together and drew straws as to who was going to perform my surgery. Or better yet, a game of rock, paper or scissors!
