I wouldn't wait. Yes you do not hear from them for a while. However, you should be in their digital system. For instance, I did not get my orientation letter yet, however, I called twice and I was in TWH system. She was easily able to find me.

Hi, I know how you feel. I am 4 years post op however when I was in your position, I used the following email address to the Bariactric Registry Hotline. Again when I used this it was almost 5 years ago, not sure if it will work, but its worth a try. They did respond to my email and answered my questions. Good Luck, let me know if it still works.

Hi all! Just wanted to let you know the referral went to Hamilton and now it's just a waiting game. Thank you for all your help and support, I'm sure I'll post another thread when I have more info!

Good luck hopefully the wait isn't as long down there as it is at TWH, my experience was that unless you pushed a BMI under 40 made you bottom of list and I have all the comorbidities, which was why my family doctor was happy to refer me.

Well I guess we shall see. But imagine most of the facilities do triage the same way.

The other thing, once you're on the list if you do have the flexibility, you can make a point of asking for cancellations once you hit the appointment stage, the sooner you can get all the pre-approval stuff done, the better. I couldn't really do this as I live outside Toronto and every trip meant taking a half or whole day off work so took a little pre-planning. But I know a number of posters were able to escalate there timing by doing tht.

That's great info Michelle. I'm at stay at home Mom and my husband makes his own schedule so it's definitely an option for me.
