Vitamins for post op

I'd like to take one/two a day of a multivitamin but I think they need to be chewable for the first little while. The celebrate ones are expensive at $70 and you need to take 4 a day. The only ones I've found that are one a day (plus calcium/vit d) are in the US. Am I stuck paying the insane shipping costs and paying in USD?

What did you take that was cost effective but got everything you needed?

The pharmacy at St. Joe's in Hamilton sells Bariatric Advantage multivitamins, calcium chews, and other supplements for bariatric patients. When I go there (once a year) I stock up. There prices are very reasonable.

Alas I'm not anywhere near St. Joe's in Hamilton (I'm going to St. Joe's in Toronto and I live in Sudbury). Maybe the pharmacy at my centre will have them? I can only hope :)

Why not call them, and ask them to order them in for you so that when you are there they will have them and you can stock up.

Guelph says 1 prenatal multivitamin per day, plus other supplements as your blood work dictates. This starts right after surgery. All Centres seem to be different in what they recommend.

Do you find the iron in these bothersome at all? When I was pregnant the iron always seemed to repeat on me and that isn't something I'm looking forward to happening for the rest of my life!!
