Day 7 of Optifast
LOL; I felt the same way on Opti, although I grew to really love the stuff, lol.
One thing I learned about myself, is that I used food to sedate myself and numb myself from any negative feelings. When I couldn't do that any more, I was shocked at how angry I could get. I never got angry before because I ate my feelings.
Once, early last spring, I was riding my bike and in a great mood. I passed the Sub shop and could smell the freshly baked buns and instantly went into a rage because I knew I couldn't have them and I used to love the Cheese buns, lol. Another time I was walking by a display of chips and flipped the bird at the chips, without knowing I was going to do it before hand, lol.
It sure is a learning process. Hang in there; the next two weeks will pass so quickly and soon you'll be on the loser's bench.

I'm sitting by myself watching my daughter's swimming lessons giggling away thinking of you flipping the bird at the chips!!!
You're welcome . I don't know who was more shocked at my chip display; me, or the elderly man walking by. At least he laughed, lol.

I start Optifast in 8 days and get to do it for 3 weeks, here's hoping I survive at least all the women at work are on my side and providing lots of positive support, the men just don't get it. Hoping I get a start on weight loss with the Optifast, I've been concentrating so much on getting my blood sugar down and levelled out that I haven't managed to lose any weight.
Thanks for the light story to brighten things up.

It's really only awful the first couple of days - then it's all the head hunger crap. I'm even developing a love of herbal tea, which is nuts considering I have always considered it the beverage equivalent of lawn clippings.
I'm losing a little bit of weight on it, but I'm just thinking of it as gravy (oh god...gravy). It's liver shrinking time to prepare for the main event!
Good luck to you! Always happy to share a laugh about this stuff - keeps me sane!
Omg...you have such a way with words, Swiggum!
From the Opti meltdown to the beverage equivalent of lawn clippings to the squirrel-like distraction by gravy - I lol'd all the way through this thread!
You rock!
