Saw nurse practitioner today!!
Hi Everyone!
My appointment went well today, I don't need any follow-up tests and am onto the nutrition class next Monday. I am finding it really helpful to keep asking nicely for cancellations. I have quite a lot of flexibility in my work schedule for the next 8 months or so and am really trying to do everything I can to ensure that my surgery can happen this year, the sooner the better. I feel completely ready as I spent a lot of time thinking this through and went through the orientation session 5 years ago but backed out at that time. I am at Toronto Western but have already let them know that I would be completely willing to have surgery in Guelph if that is still an option when I get through all the appointments.
The NP told me today that it is about 4-5 months from meeting the surgeon appointment to surgery at this point in time but they are optimistic that wait will shorten.
Any other suggestions about how to get through the steps quickly from all of you that have been there, done that? :)
Thanks!

Congratulations on the NP!!!
Calling for cancellations is all you can do. And don't worry now about down the road... there are ways to speed up surgery later. Just focus on getting through the appointments for now, and then see what the delays are and the options are when you get there. We'll help you at that time. :)
Keep calling for cancellations! They come up all the time.
