Final Appointment - on to rounds

So, my appointment this morning went very well. Apparently I'm textbook. I go to rounds tomorrow. And should hear in a month about meeting the surgeon. Hate to burst anyone's bubble and hope they are very wrong but I was told surgery will likely be in the fall.

I'm at the exact stage. My file has just gone to rounds yesterday - I was also told I'm "textbook" lol

My centre said that my surgery is likely to be in March/April. I'm through Sudbury though.

That is great that you are through all of the appointments!! Lets hope that they are wrong and the wait is shorter than that.

TWH often has cancellations, so if your schedule allows for it ask the NP at the meet the surgeon appointment to add you to the list.

Honestly, set your intention for the date you want. Fall is so far away. I can help you make it happen sooner. :) All you have to do is have an ounce of belief!!

I'm just not sure how a cancellation would work with my job but I will definitely find out while waiting for the surgeon appointment. I asked today about a letter stating when the surgery was and how long I'll be off and she said oh they don't give letters until after surgery. Umm, that can't be right. I need to have some proof when telling my job I'll be taking at least 8 weeks off, possibly more given the type of work I do.

Can you move up the surgeon appointment too?? I was told I would hear in about a month and then the appointment would be a few months later.

Yes, you can move the surgeon appointment up. It's a tough one to move up as there aren't a lot of spots... but just keep calling. Once you get your appointment, start calling for cancellations the same way you do for all the others. :)

As for the note, i didn't need one. Maybe stays new thread and ask other people to post what they did for their work.

Have you ever got a person when you've called?? I'm always leaving messages. Would I just leave a message and they would call if there was a cancellation? I've decided not to worry about work and they'll just have to deal with it if I can get a cancellation. They'll have at least 2 weeks notice anyhow...

Yes... I get people live at TWH all the time. I also get VM. They are good at returning calls. Be sure to include your MRN number in the message: they like that!! But when you call, believe someone will pick up cause they often do.

I had luck mostly around 10 am, just past lunch... well, I had lots of luck. Keep calling! They'll answer. :)
