Green light - going to rounds

I had my final meeting with the NP (on the phone, just quick follow up to make sure I'd had a pap smear and my heart trace results were back).

She's happy to give me the "green light" and pass me to be discussed at rounds. I asked what this was and she said they all just get together that I've seen so far and discuss my file. I asked if there was anything she could foresee as being a potential problem that we could discuss or I could work on now and she said "No, you're textbook".

I asked how long between rounds and the OTN meet the surgeon appointment and she said "about a month, things will move quickly from here".

I'm SUPER excited today. I really feel like things are on their way.

Congrats to you! I am glad things will move along quick now for you. I hope the same happens for me. I am still waiting for initial appointment dates.

Thank you! I see from your signature you've done a pre/post op nutrition class. I wasn't offered this and neither was the 3 people from my orientation class I've kept in touch with.

Mine has been slightly delayed as I was overdue a Pap smear and one of the girls I know was delayed slightly because she hasn't been to the dentist in just over a year.

It was 6-7m from orientation to 1-1s and that's because I was hounding them a bit lol

They basically went over the booklet they gave us for orientation. I am not sure if there is an additional nutrition class or not.

I just reread my post above. I hope that I didn' t come across as being rude. I am a bit frustrated with the centre. I thought I would at least have an appointment date by now. I am always in fear of my file sitting on someones desk and nothing being done with it. This has happened before. I am a military wife and I am at risk of being posted at any time. The province I am likely to get posted to has a 7 year wait list! This is my only shot to get this done. I just want an appointment date to look forward too....to know someone is paying attention. Sorry for the vent.

I totally 100% understand. The people from my orientation were only called in Dec to book early February appointments. I only got mine when I did because I?ll be in England the week they wanted to schedule me. I was super upset when she called and said it was those or I had to wait until April. We?re going home the UK for the first time with our daughters since we moved 3.5yrs ago.

I cried on the phone about how upset I was and said I could come for ANY appointments that people might not make as I live 3-4 mins from the centre. They called back and gave me last minute cancellations. Like can you come at 1pm and the call was at 11am.

i really feel that Sudbury is exceptionally disorganized. You didn't come across rude at all and looking at your timeline it shouldn't be too much longer. If I'm doubt start calling them (every 3 days because you'll need to leave vm)

I agree with anncha. Start calling regularly. Make yourself known to the centre. Take control of your journey. Set an intention to have your surgery by May 20 or whatever date makes sense for you, and put the wheels in motion to make it happen.

Stop venting and start acting!

Be nice, be consistent, be persistent.

I hope you enjoy your trip! I know how hard it is to be away from family. Mine are all on the east coast. I just saw them for the first time in 2 years last summer. May be 2 or 3 more years before I see them again.
