GOAL REACHED!

I?ve reached my goal today, the last 4lbs were lossed due to stomach issues. I?ve been to the ER 3 times in the past 3 weeks. I keep having extreme mid stomach pain that radiates to my back, the first ER visit (Dec 25)they took blood, urine & X-rays and chalked it up to the holidays were too much for my new tummy, take some Tums and you will be ok.

The next ER visit (Dec 31) I had to leave work after I ate my lunch, I was doubled over in pain and throwing up, when asked what my pain was at I told them 9/10, but I still had to wait 41/2 hours before I saw a doctor. They seemed put out that I was at the ER a week prior and ran the same tests, they gave me some gravol through my IV, once my stomach settled they gave me a suspension to drink called a ?pink lady ? it helped a lot, but the suspension had a numbing agent in it, I was prescribed an antacid and was told it was gastritis. As the week went on I would have this pain 1-3 times daily, but didn?t want to go back to the ER and ?bother? the doctor with indigestion issues. On Saturday at work I just finished my lunch and with in 5 minuets I could feel the pain startng in my back, it traveled to my stomach and it was worse pain than the 2 previous trips to the ER was. I took multiple antacid and nothing touched it. I managed to finish my shift and go home, I tried to ?walk off? the pain but it was just getting worse. I had my husband run me in again. They took me right away and gave me pain meds with gravol, once again it settled it down but the pain was still there, I had a great doctor who suggested it was my gall bladder that was causing all this pain, he gave me a med to calm the spasms down. I go for an ultrasound in the next few weeks. I?m glad they figured it out, I?m thankful there?s nothing wrong with my bypass. I know there was a chance of gall bladder issues post RNY, but I thought it would occur years down the road.

Hell of a way to reach my goal (not recommend)!

just sticking to an even lower fat diet lol.

Sorry to hear you have been having all these issues. Did you go to your local ER or where you had your surgery? I would always recommend going back to where your surgery was if you find yourself having to go back to the ER two or three times. Good luck. I hope your issues are resolved quickly and congrats on hitting goal!

I thought about going back to Guelph where I had my RNY, but due to this lovely winter we have been having I didn't want to drive the 2 hours to get there. I have an ER 20 min from where I live, I went there the 1st and 3rd time the 2nd ER visit was in the City my work was close to. If I need my gall bladder out should I ask my RNY surgeon to do it?

It wouldn't hurt to call your surgeon and explain what's been going on and he will tell you what he thinks you should do. Our ER's just aren't up to speed with RNY and can miss something serious. Good luck!

CONGRATULATIONS! I'm sorry you have gone through so much. It is a good reminder that every pain we have may not be RNY related - although that's the first thing we think of.

Happy 2018!

I am so sorry it took so many visits to be taken serious. I am also sorry for the pain. I learned sometimes the suffering just aggrivates more things.

I am happy/sad it might be your gal bladder. If it is stones or something that would suggest they remove your gal ladder, it is the easiest surgery I ever had. Recovery and right after and it was wonderful peace of mind it would be we happen again.

Praying for you Lady. I hope they have you so.ething to take at home in ase it starts to spasm again.
