Hospital stay and return to work
It may be freezing out but at least it is sunny! Looking for some general time lines from those that have had RNY. For those who were in generally good health going into surgery and as long as you didn't have any complications were you released the day after surgery? For those who have office jobs what was your return to work timeline, 3 to 4 weeks? Stay warm!

I'd like to get a sense of this too. I can have all the time I need but I'd like to know what others have experienced. I understand energy is an issue after surgery.

I spent 2 nights in hospital and was really glad I did - day 2 was my worst day and I was not prepared to go home. My husband would have had no clue what to do seeing me in that state.
Everything improved a bit each day from day 3 out.
I don't work, so I can't comment on returning.

I was told I should be 2 nights in the hospital and I am planning on taking 6 weeks off work. Depending how I feel I may return to 1/2 days at that time. My work is good but I haven't told them yet and I'm not sure what I am going to tell them. I don't really want everyone to know.

I have severe sleep apnea and didn't do very well with anesthetic but I was able to go home the next day because I lived close to the hospital.
I have an office job and returned on Tuesday. I felt well enough to go back after three weeks, but we were closed for holidays, and the doctors gave me four weeks off with my note.

Hey hey! No probs before or after. I am a dispatcher and work evenings so I took the full four weeks and because of my platoon schedule I got a bonus 2 days as well. I was good at the four week mark but the meal planning became even more important since I eat two meals at work. If you can afford it take all the time the docs give you. Getting used to the new way of eating and being is pretty tiring!

I know the newbies check the trackers and the signatures so although I kind of lost track of how the rest of the weight came off, you should know that it was not fast and furious but it was slow and steady!
current BMI 24.7 that, my friends, is NORMAL!!! Strong is the new pretty!
I was in hospital for 2 nights. I have a desk job and I was able to get back to work half days in 2 weeks and the third week I was back full time. I had no complications at all.
I was scheduled off for 4 weeks overall I managed to get back to work pretty quickly. I was tired and had low energy the first week - 2nd week was much better. Lots of naps was key for me
