Getting Ready - 11 Days and Counting
So much happening right now and so much to do before surgery. Wow!
The Optifast sorted out and I am feeling fine. Not hungry and actually I'm feeling quite energetic and not hungry in the least. The cravings have passed and all is good.
My liquid vitamins arrived today from Well.ca so I am well stocked there.
I filled my prescriptions so my pain meds and blood thinners are already in the medicine cabinet and ready to go.
I've loaded up on Benefibre and Restoralax. I'm covered there.
My pre-admission appt. is next Friday as is my pre-surgery nutrition class. My last day in the office is next Thursday.
Arrangements have been made for the dogs and I have also arranged for snow shovelling for the next two months. I don't think I'll be doing that for a while. LOL
I cancelled one gym membership and re-upped with the Y. I wanted the pool and swimming back in my life so I've gone with the Y.
I ordered an MP3 player that's really small that will be good for running, exercising and listening to while in hospital.
I have 3 bags of clothing that is destined for Goodwill. I'm close to losing 50 lbs now so that stuff has no place in my closet any longer. I'm going to do a bigger purge this weekend. I need to make space for my skinny clothes. :)
I don't want to do any groceries until after my nutrition class. No sense buying stuff that I won't be eating.
Have I missed anything?

Sounds like you are really on top of things.
smart move not going shopping until after your nut class.
and i will tell you i was so busy recovering after surgery i had no time for music or games or reading so don't be surprised if you don't have energy to do anything other than walk toot and burp. lol.
the mp3 player will still come in handy for waking and stationary biking.
Again though it sounds like you are really on the ball
Cheers
I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday!

I was not a fast loser but who cares as long as you get there! I know the newbies check the trackers and the signatures so although I kind of lost track of how the rest of the weight came off, you should know that it was not fast and furious but it was slow and steady!
current BMI 24.7 that, my friends, is NORMAL!!! Strong is the new pretty!
Holy organized!! That all sounds great.
Here's my only comment: be prepared after surgery to let your body heal at its own pace. Meaning, let go of your agenda to need to "do" certain things on certain days. Expect that recovery will not go according to plan. And that is ok... because it will all unfold perfectly and in time you will do all those amazing things.
Be patient with yourself. Heal. Rest.
AND I'm so glad Opti has normalized and is working out for you. This next step in your journey is going to be amazing!!!!
Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. Choose happy.

This sounds very much like my planning!! I also have a great list for packing for the hospital and have already started putting that stuff together. With the music I am downloading some Netflix shows in case I feel like watching something on my iPad too. Magazines maybe? I am also organizing all my smaller clothes by size so they are easy and available to try on when I ge there. I have also searched out some recipe websites and flagged some recipes I think I might like.
What liquid vitamins did you buy on well.ca?
I love organized!!

Jamieson. I bought liquid calcium with D3 and I bought a liquid multivitamin as well. I struggle with the big pills now so I figured why fight it? I'll just go with liquid until everything normalizes and then I'll go back to the pill or chewables.

It sounds like you're ready to go, and kudos on losing so much weight pre op! That's amazing!
I brought my tablet so I could watch Netflix in the hospital and it sure came in handy to distract me from how I was feeling. I also brought a book to read for when my roommate was sleeping so the tablet wouldn't bother her. I would have been in misery without them, as they kept my mind busy.

Sounds like you are set and on top of things!
I love your excitement to get rid of the old and make room for the new. I want to join the Y as well because I love to swim but for now while we are running on one income I am sticking with Fit4Less.
If you haven't already I would pick up some of the Premier Chocolate shakes and take 4 of them to the hospital with you. The ones they offer at the hospital are awful. You can get them in packs of 4 from shoppers if you do not want to get a bunch.
Pack lots of undies and slippers/flipflops. And TP or personal wet wipes. The hospital TP is aweful.
You will do great!
