I'm A Very Lucky Girl
I realized this week how truly blessed and lucky I am to have friends who are supportive of what I am doing.
I have been very open about this journey and have received many different responses. None have been bad, but they run the range of "really? - you're really going to do that?", to "whoo hoo, you go girl - how can I help you?"
This past week I was in Vancouver on business and we had our Christmas Party. Two of my employees begged me to come out again after surgery so they could take me clothes shopping. They have a plan and want to help me go shopping in any other store than Pennington's. They are so invested in this for me and supportive I almost cried.
My Boss gave me a lovely Christmas bonus with a note that said, "Merry Christmas - I hope this will help you find the new you in the New Year. I know you are looking forward to a shopping spree so this will help make that happen".
Two of my work clients have asked if I would like to do a weekend at St. Anne's Spa after surgery. It's there gift to me to help me feel good about myself.
My sister has already told me that she's waiting for me to have surgery and has arranged to get me her family discount at Winners in the New Year so we can go clothes shopping. She's also going to prepare some homemade purees for me for after surgery that I can freeze and warm up as needed. She's also a naturopathic nutritionist so she's all in.
I know a lot of people struggle with family and friends who are not on board and really feel that they are going it alone. I can't imagine doing this without support.
I have great friends and family and I truly value each and every one of them. They are already making me successful as this journey continues.
I'm heading down south for Christmas in a day or two so I'll take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Amazing!! Wow, this truly is a "SweetRide" for you.
Having support of friends and family in this journey is so great. Your openness and willingness to share of yourself both about your journey, but also of who you are (I've met you, I can say this with experience) draws people in and I'm so thrilled that everyone wants to rally around you and support you... it's your turn to get supported for a change!!
Enjoy the Ride!!! It's going the be the ride of a lifetime :)
Have a great trip, and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
