6 mth follow-up today
I remember the surgeon coming in to my hospital room after surgery and telling me that he was really happy with how the surgery went and that he thought I would have great results.
I remember hoping he was right - but I never imagined my results would be so great!!!
I went to my 6 month follow up today at TWH. The first person I met with (I had 3 appointments today) was the social worker. She said that they hope for a final loss of 60-80% of a patient's excess body weight. She then went on to say that at 6 months post-op I have lost 85% of my excess weight. I actually thought I might tear up. She asked if I felt that I was done and I said no. I would really like to get to a normal BMI. She warned me that sometimes goals like that are unachievable and she doesn't want me to get discouraged if I can't get there, But I assured her that if I lived the rest of my life at my current weight I would still be happy. I am generally happy with my appearance (especially fully clothed 
).
I never imagined I would say that - I'M GENERALLY HAPPY WITH MY APPEARANCE!
For anyone who is still unsure, still considering this procedure - GO FOR IT! I truly feel like I have a new lease on life. 
p.s. My 3rd appointment (dietician) actually asked me to confirm that I weighed in at 137 - she thought it was a typo
