New Here!
Hi All,
I'm new here so please bear with me... My Dr's referral has been sent in to OBN and they contacted me the next day. I received my portion of the paperwork and filled everything in and sent in back. Still waiting on my Family MD to see me next week to fill in her portion and send me for blood work. I will be a Lap. Band revision. Kinda nervous and excited all at once but worried it going to be a very long journey from here to surgery. Anyone know roughly how long everything takes?
Welcome LeiLei! Congratulations on getting started.
You'll find many others here who have had lap band revisions.
The process varies in length depending where you are... but takes an average of about a year. Do you know what hospital you are being referred to?

Hi Leilei and welcome!
I started my journey in May this year through Hamilton. It's now December and I just had my last meeting today with the internal medicine doctor. Next I get to meet and sit down with the surgeon. Just waiting for the phone call.
If your schedule permits, call for cancellations as they don't keep a "list" of people available to fill those voids.
This is such a wonderful journey, I hope you enjoy it as much as I have :)

Hi,
Sorry for taking so long to reply. I have two sick littles at home and haven't had a moment to sign back on. I'm not sure what hospital the surgery will be going through but I do know that the OBN clinic I was referred to is in Sudbury. I'm really hoping the whole process goes a lot faster. I have been suffering from severe GERD due to my lap band and seriously can't stand myself most days. :( but oh well it's all just a new journey and time to get on board for the long haul I guess. Thanks for your quick reply and Sorry agin for taking so long to get back to you.
I hope your little ones are better soon!
There are many people here who have gone through/are going through the Sudbury clinic. You can do a search or start a thread asking for more info about the process/timeline if you want! Good luck, and I hope it goes quickly for you. I hear it's a big relief to have the lap band removed. :)

Hi LeiLei and welcome. For me it was 18 months from referral. They may fast track you because you've had a lapband.
Do your research here and join in for the fun. We're a pretty friendly supportive bunch.
