I found a really good substitute for when you really have a craving it's called salami prosciutto- best of both worlds - no nitrites! Natural and deelicious! Loblaws!!

Good question. Really helpful!

Tip 1: Always be prepared. Have food ready to go and on the go to avoid choices you may not prefer.

Tip 2: Listen to your body. It's great to get advice from experts, vets, and those who have had surgery already... but you will always be the expert of your own body, and what works for one person will not work or be a preference for another. Take input from all sources but make your own decisions based on how your body reacts to the progress your pouch is making, and your results on and off the scale. Energy, how clothes fit, how you feel... it all matters. :)

I was told by a nutritionist I've been to so many that you should ask yourself am I thirsty and what exactly am I craving? Salty? Spicy? Sweet? Protein? Crunchy?Comfort food? Do you know how many times I've made something and I say I'll eat it tomorrow because I have learned that if I want something I'm gonna have to have it ...so I will take the healthier option of what I want and that really does take care of my craving: example : pb & j on toast.. lol .. and I add my whey protein and now I make no sugar jam.. Yeah I'm into this channeling Martha Stewart thing lately.. LOL..

PS sometimes we are just thirsty!

I agree with thirsty. If I am in the mood to eat something (cause I don't feel hunger the same way anymore) I take stock of how much I have had to drink that day. I don't let myself have food (unless it's a mealtime) unless infinish the water in my water bottle I always have going. Then, i re-evaluate. Often, it takes me so long to drink my water that I forget i was in the mood to eat something. Lol.
