When can I use my exercise bike???
Hey all,
So I've been looking over the guidelines for exercise post-op, and it says that regular biking is out for a while because it involves balancing and coordination, but what about an exercise bike? It has a solid base, so the balance factor wouldn't be an issue, right?
On Friday I'll be 7 weeks out, so according to the sheet they gave me I'm okay for moderate activity, and I was thinking some light pedaling might be an option. Just wondering if anyone has gotten a definitive answer about this before.
Hope you're all doing well!
Kayla
Hi Kayla, I think the big issue is not to engage your core muscles (for TWH, it's 4 months). I am using my indoor bike for the reasons you mentioned... not engaging my core, and light pedalling.
When I asked on the boards not too long ago, that seemed to be the consensus, but I'll love to read others' answers here. :)
Happy pedalling. Your results are great!!

Hi Kayla
I asked the same question of the dietician when I went for amy 7wk post op visit in Windsor. She indicated to be sure not to use any resistance so not to affect your abdominal muscles and it would be ok.
