10 months and counting
Sunday was my 10 month surgiversary and it's so hard to believe that a year ago I was so stressed about getting a surgery date. My appointment with the surgeon at TWH had been cancelled. I feel so very fortunate that I was able to have my surgery at Guelph. It's an awesome hospital and because we have family close by, getting there wasn't difficult.
Like most others, I've spent my entire life trying one diet or another. I think I was 10 when I started my first diet. Three pregnancies and a sedentary Job sure didn't help.
My highest weight was 294.6 and I lost 13 lbs before surgery. I had 1 week of opti. I'm now 169 and I've lost 125 lbs. I'm wearing size 10s and mediums and really love my new life. I'm planning to lose another 30 lbs as I'd like to get to a normal BMI and I'm scared of possible regain.
Anyway, thanks for listening to a little snippet of my journey. Here's a before and after pic - the after was last Thursday morning on my way home from a business trip to Sudbury.

Congratulations Teena!!! Thanks for always sharing your updates.
Wow, it is surreal to think that a year ago, you were stressed about getting a surgery date. Look how much has changed in, really, such a short time. Your progress is amazing and so inspiring.
What strikes me in your most recent picture is how comfortable you look with yourself.
You look great!!! Thanks for sharing and congratulations again :)

Thanks- I am surprised how comfortable I am in my own skin to be honest. The biggest struggle right now is to stay the course. So many people say oh don't lose anymore. And I like the size I'm wearing and what I see in the mirror. But I always said I didn't go through major surgery to settle so I have to keep my head in the game. :)

People will always have an opinion about what size is right for you. Only you can decide for yourself. If you're happy, then you're happy! No one, not me, not the vets, no one, can tell you to keep going. On the flip side, if you want to keep going, to see how it feels, then do. Studies and experience show most people (not all) will experience some regain anyway.
There's no one right answer... trial and resetting will be the only solution. :)
No doubt you'll figure it out!!
