Puree Diet Tips
I have been getting updates from Seamless MD, and something that is on my checklist is to have pureed food ready and in the freezer for when I am recovering from surgery (December 6th!!).
I have to be completely honest, the puree stage is the one that has me the most confused. All I can picture is baby food lol.
What did most people prepare/eat during this stage? something easy to prepare and freeze.
Side Note: I am on day one of opti....so far so good...I am lucky to be getting over a nasty cold so my appetite has been absent anyways.
Check out The World According to Eggface website. She has recipes for all of the post-op phases. I ate refried beans with melted cheese.

Hey there, Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!!!
Pureed was my fav!! I was so ready for real food. I didn't prepare anything in advance. I was able to cook then... and grocery shopping was easy too. We're buying such small quantities. I honestly just bought what I was in the mood for and cooked it.
A slow cooker will be your best friend in the puréed stage, and broth! My first meal was slow cooked stewing beef with lentils, onions, carrots, and broth... and a bunch of spices. I just blended it as I ate it.
I made sole en papillote too, which flaked up with a fork.
I made a chicken curry that had no potatoes... it had chickpeas and peas. I made it in the slow cooker.
I made soup; a few different kinds. And using the immersion blender, got it to a consistency that was perfect for puréed stage.
You can definitely prep in advance. Everyone is different. I was glad I didn't because what I would have prepped and what I actually felt like eating were different.
Wishing you much success now and though all the phases of your WLS!!!

All food is ok! It's all personal choice. I have chosen to really limit white carbs, so I won't cook with them. I also don't really prefer sweet potatoes so wouldn't cook with them.

I don't eat low carb actually... I probably eat way higher carb than most people in this site. But I get my carbs from legumes, veg, and fruit mostly. I also probably get more fat than a lot of people here. I cook with olive oil and or butter. I use full fat cheese, and 2% milk. I monitor closely to ensure I lose weight, and so far so good. I eat avocado and nuts and other natural fat sources.
You need to do what's right for you... Bread, pasta and alternatives is a slippery slope for me. You know yourself. You'll figure it out. And if it's not working, well, change it up!

Lol.. great to know! The alternatives are non gmo and organic.. They are whole foods ... I cook with olive oil and butter too. You are doing it right- I think nuts and seeds are amazing but not after WLS.. OK this is gonna sound weird but I'm really scared of seeds and rice getting stuck in the Staples ...I hear you laughing... lol
I agree with the fear of things getting stuck!! I don't have seeds yet... probably will eventually. Early on, i had this raspberry yogurt that had the little raspberry seeds in it, and i would literally pick them out for fear that they would get caught in my staples.
I'm with you girl... I don't take needless chances! I know my pouch and what foods I can eat, so I "push my luck" there, like white meat chicken, or steak as my first solid, or hard boiled eggs. But I have let my body heal big time. I do not want to end up in a second surgery. No thank you!!!
