Real food observation
everyone is different but I have realized in the days that I really limit food and get in protein drinks, bars and yogurt, etc I struggle. Yesterday I was out at a fancy work lunch and stuck to cheeses, beef, chicken .... and before and after ate cheese, chicken, etc and bam! Down 1.5 pounds today. I really need to love my body enough to keep the real food going. So hard to get out of diet mentality though especially when I am so close to 100# down. 5 more # to go for that marker that I never in my life thought I would make.

That's awesome!
I try as much as possible to eat real food. I know some days it can be difficult, and a protein bar or shake are required, but I really try to eat real, unprocessed food... home cooked meals as much as possible.
I'm also a rare bird in that I try to eat some veg at every meal, and a bit of fruit every day. I've had so many bowel problems, and want to keep my fibre up, plus believe in whole nutrition. I monitor closely to make sure i keep losing, and will switch it up if i stop... thankfully it's working for now.

Thank you for sharing that. It helps to hear how everyone is doing it and what works for them. whole foods seems the way to go. to be healthy. and to lose the weight.

I also do better with dense protein, although I love my Greek yogurt and usually eat it daily with some berries and bran buds, either as breakfast or a snack.
Yesterday I didn't eat enough calories or protein so I had a Quest protein bar to make up for it. It was the apple pie flavored one and wasn't my favorite but I ate it, and then had the worst stomach pain and nausea. I've eaten the bars before and was fine with them, so I'm wondering if it was the apple pie bar specifically, as it had bits of super chewy dried apple inside which I think caused the problem.
I would have been better off having a pepperette and a cheese string, which is normally what I do when I need to up my calories and protein, or a piece of left over steak.

Hi Leeann,
For me, the only way to go is whole foods - lots of protein and veggies. I don't want to be on a diet for the rest of my life.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. This really is an important topic!
