Transferred from twh to guelph just for surgery post sx diet
If all your followup appointments will be at TWH, I say go with their plan.
Surgery Jun.2/17 at TWH ----- HW 215 - SW 197.2 - GW 125 CW 124.6
Pre-Op=8.8lbs --- Optifast= 8.4 (was on it for 9 days due to cancellation)
M1 - 20.6... M2 -10.2... M3 -8.0... M4 -5.8... M5 -9.0... M6 -5.2... M7 -7.0... M8 -2.2... M9 -0.9... M10 -2.6... M11-0.6... M12-2.0
I followed Guelph's plan because it was more restrictive and I had two surgeries feeling the need to allow my pouch more healing time. I was okay with it. I had two weeks of Opti followed by two weeks of clear fluid and two weeks of fuller fluids. I added one protein shake a day made with warm water and a scoop of whey protein powder - also for healing. It was as thin as the water and I had no trouble with it.
After this, I switched to TWH's plan and have kept with it since. I wish they were all the same and when I compared the two, Guelph seemed to allow for more healing time which, to me, made sense.
Continued good health.
