How long til surgeon calls? (Ottawa)

I am currently waiting on a 'Meet The Surgeon' date at the civic. Anyone remember how long you waited for the call?

Have you finished your pre surgery classes? I got hooked up because my sleep study was borderline but that was my last barrier and I got my last pre surg class appt and consent appt within a month.

Yes I am all done. My referral was sent to the surgeon

Im going through BMI as well. It was a few days to hear from the surgeon and then my appointment was 2 weeks away. It goes quick from there. Quick question, where did you get your sleep study done and how long did it take to get results back?

A few days? Weird. It's been almost 2 weeks with no call. I'm actually doing my sleep study tomorrow and was told they would make my results priority (aka I will get my results in a few weeks). I'm getting my sleep study at Queensway Carleton Hospital.

Hey so they won't put the referral in to see the surgeon until they have the results of the sleep study in their hands. I heard queensway doesn't take all that long to get results back. I went to another place and it was my longest delay to get the results back, and they had mine rushed as well. They may have said that you are ready to see the surgeon in terms of having completed all your appointments and they may have signed you off in every other area but they won't submit your referral until they have the results back.

My doctor sent the referral to the surgeon already, but said the surgeon won't book my surgery until my sleep study results come back. And yes I have finished all my classes.

I went through BMI with Dr. Freedhoff as well, they told me they wouldn't officially consult the surgeon until the results were in and that was just about a month ago. But maybe things have changed. Once they put the referral in I heard from them in a few days and now I'm having surgery on Friday eek. Good luck :)

Same with me, once my sleep study review was complete I got a date in two days but they would not even consider an appointment with the results. My sleep study was inconclusive/borderline so I had to go and meet with the sleep specialist as well. All is well that ends well because I meet the surgeon next week.

Same here. I asked if they could but the referral to the surgeon in while we waited for the results of my sleep study just to speed things up and they said they can't put the referral in until they have the results. Luckily it's quick once all the results are in and good. Did you need a machine?
