Scale issues
so i stepped on the scale yesterday and it said i had GAINED weight since my one month on the 4th of October. how can this be? is it just because i have a crappy scale? should i change the battery? I am freaking out. i haven't had a calorie intake more than 800 yet. but yeah this is awful could it be the scale? any advice? should i ignore the scale and just wait for the doctors scale to weigh me at the three month appointment? ANY and ALL advice welcome i am so upset
should i buy a new scale?
I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday!

Hi rce,
The scale is a really finicky beast. I've shown gains since my surgery. I've had little stalls (I say little cause I think of a week, week and a half as little). But overall, I've lost weight, my clothes are looser, I'm on track with my eating, and the weight will come off.
My body needs to adjust. The scale will fluctuate. I made a promise to myself pre-surgery that I wouldn't let myself get freaked out by these fluctuations, that I was going to just look and analyze and see how things look over the long term.
We're in this for a long time. Don't let one (or 20) day of negative results negate all the amazing results, both on and off the scale.
Keep doing all the good stuff you're doing. Make a vow with yourself not to live by scale results. You got this!!!
Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. Choose happy.

Century Club and Onederland in month 7!!
If it makes you feel better, put a new battery in your scale. I did have a scale that did weird stuff when the battery was just about done. It actually was remembering old weights and it wouldn't budge from it.
But, if that's not what's going on, wait it out. Our bodies do weird and wonderful things while we are losing weight.
You could be retaining water and it's as simple as that.
A whole lot of things are going on. Chin up...it will all work it out.

Speaking without having any surgery I can only understand to a point. But I have been watching your posts. What you have been doing. Chin up. Stupid scale! You have been working hard and there is no way you could of gained. Your body is healing and it needs time. Everything will be okay. Babystep!!!

How do you feel?? Our hormones are all out of whack as well, don't let the scale get the best of you! It may be a few days of water retention! When I had complications and went bk to hospital for a week scale said I gained 12lbs!!! It was from all IV fluid and PICC feeds bc creator knows I was not keeping food down!
Scale is our life long battle! Your winning this one, eff you scale!!!
Bojangles you made me laugh, thank you!
I am sure it must have been shocking to you to have gained 12 lbs. i just gained 2 by the home scale. but it is literally 10 days later. i am just gonna look away from the scale and get my GP to weigh me next week. on a better scale!
