Surgery done, back home
HI
Had surgery yesterday and now I'm back home.
I'm very bloated. Any ideas how to get rid of it? I've been walking every day and drinking my fluids.
Perhaps I'm drinking too fast?
Your experience is greatly appreciated.

Welcome home!
The bloating is going to go away... it took a while for me.
M'as for drinking too fast, just listen to your body. Always err on the side of caution. Slower is better. :)

Century Club and Onederland in month 7!!
Hi,
I live in Winnipeg. I was on a waiting list for three years. It takes forever here. I had it at the Victoria Hospital. There was another gentleman that had it yesterday and he's still at the hospital but he had a complication with an allergy. Poor man.
I just followed the documentation. After the anesthesia wore off, I got up right away and walked the halls. I've heard that's pretty important. I think the key is to follow the guidelines, they are there because it works. Good luck Kerbear74 you will do great!!
Wow. That's a pretty quick turnaround for you to be back home so soon. Drinking fluids is great, but also drink plenty of water. That might help.

Fast turn around indeed. Have you passed the gas yet? Just keep walking and keep sipping. Thank about sipping 5-10mls at a time. Sip from a shot glass if that helps by having less volume in the cup.
The nurses on my floor said there is nothing better than tootin' after the surgery and they love to celebrate it.
Happy walking, sippin' and tootin'!

Congratulations! I was super bloated after surgery too; it took awhile to go down. I think a lot of it is because of the air they pump inside you during surgery.
