I'm sick of eating, and food in general.

Just a small rant. I'm 11 days post op.

I feel like all I do is eat. It seems like food controls my life more now than it ever did before. I'm constantly worrying about what I'll eat next, will I get my protein in today? Did I chew that well enough?

Everything tastes bland/gross, I can't stand eating. It's boring and time consuming and it feels like I'm always eating or thinking about eating. It's driving me bananas.

I know it's an adjustment and will et better with time but my word it's frustrating.

It will get better!

The first month felt like such a chore, concerning myself with getting my fluids in, trying to get my protein in. Not always feeling like eating.

It can be trying, but it will get better.

Good luck!

Lol,

My wife would get.annoyed with my obsession with food post Op. Like you I became obsessed with making sure I drank Gallons of water while making sure I would eat the required amount of protien. I also could not help myself from contantly thinking about what I would eat next.

I drove her nuts.

Good News....it subsides with time and as you settle into your new Lifestyle.

Yeah, the first couple of weeks are the worst! I'm 5 weeks out, and it's getting easier. Every day is a new adventure. Some days are easy, some days are challenging. But nothing like they were those first couple of weeks where food was just difficult to navigate.

Hang in there... it will get better. :)

Yup, it was shocking to me too at first that I had to basically fight my food obsessions with new food obsessions, lol.

It's like having a full time job at first but it gets easier, and it is so worth it.

You've got this!

Thanks everyone. I'm glad that it seems to be a pretty common thing, and I'm really glad it'll calm down eventually!

Definitely just take it one day at a time. It's tough in the early days. Concentrate on getting in all your water, protein, vitamins and supplements. It gets easier with time and you will develop a routine.

I have had no appatite since my surgery a month ago. it has taken some careful picking and choosing of food that will entice me to make me want to eat. you may want to try differnet flavours that will make you want to eat. i know your still in the beginning, but bear with it. you can do this

I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday!
