Less than 3 weeks on OptiFast?

Hi all,

Im currently waiting on a "meet the surgeon" appointment. I wanted to know if any of you were only on opti for 2 weeks instead of 3. Im asking because money is tight and if I can pay $200 instead of $300, it would be a lot easier.

Icknow there is a very good chance Ill be forced to do 3 weeks, but I thought Id ask.

May depend on the centre...i weighed 272 got 2 weeks.... Doug was 398 had 3 weeks. We were told any weight in the 200's was 2 weeks any weight in 300's was 3 weeks. It ended up being true for us. We weren't the lucky ones who didn't have a fatty liver.

I was exactly 290 and I got 3 weeks.

Mention it to your surgeon, perhaps he/she can be flexible or give you an alternative diet.

I had my surgery on short notice (cancellation) so ended up having to do only two weeks, and my liver at surgery was fine. Talk to your team.

I was 260 and was on for two...though I sold my opti and went with a different shake because i couldn't stomach the opti.

I weighed 304 and had to do 3 weeks of Opti. I think it was because I was over 300 Lbs.

Money was tight for me too, and I had to pay for 2 flights to Toronto plus rent a room for 5 days after surgery because I was coming from Northern Ontario and was told I needed to stick around for at least 5 days after surgery.

Hello. We are the same height and I was given 2 weeks of opti at 260 lbs. I would talk to your nurse about alternatives. I can't remember who, but about 3 weeks ago someone posted that they were allowed to have a restricted low carb diet instead of opti because they couldn't do sweeteners. Maybe you can ask about doing that instead to the shakes.

I was on it for 2 weeks, my weight was 235.5 (I am short)
