Opti is Done
So I have finished my Opti. I didn't find it too bad taste wise and was doing well until the heat wave this weekend. It took a lot out of me. Today was especially bad for energy and it didn't help how much work is left to get done and sorted out before I am off on Thursday.
How did people find the 2 days of clear fluids? I still have to work the next 2 days and I am not sure how it is going to go. Luckily my boss can drive to our meeting 2 hours away but it still makes for a long day.
Funny side note is that I manage projects and have some problem people on my team. Whenever I have been talking to people and outlining what needs to be done for end of day Thursday my boss keeps chiming in that I am being bossy because I am hangry. I take it as a complete joke and so does everyone else because that is his personality but it is at least good for a laugh through this last leg.

I have Dr. Hong. He is the surgeon that typically does the revision in 1 surgery. There was a cancellation and he didn't have a full day so they could slot mine in.

I'm so excited for you that surgery is so close! It wasn't so long ago that surgery seemed an impossible distant possibility.
I didn't have to do clear fluids, so I can't help... hopefully ketosis will carry you through.
Your boss. Some people. Hopefully it really is funny and not "funny".
Almost there girl!! Then really, you'll probably never feel hangry again!! Yahoo!!!

Century Club and Onederland in month 7!!
It was actually funny. Made it through my meetings today which was great. I am actually not too bad but oddly thirsty even though I am drinking a ton of water.

Hi gbears!
I'm really excited for you. This has been a long time coming. As far as the fast for two days, I didn't find it so bad. The first day I was pretty hungry and a little bit irritable but then again I didn't have the opti so I may have felt this on the first few days of opti. For me, the best part was that I was so incredibly busy the 2 days before surgery (and so pumped!) that I never really noticed I was wasn't eating anything. It sounds like you are pretty busy so you will probably be ok. Also, I was also on a road trip the first day of fasting, so because I wasn't driving, I just read and slept and talked to my husband kids (when I wasn't grumpy). You will do just great!

I am on day 8 of 21 and it seems sooo far away. I can't even think of the clear fluids yet, although yesterday the nurse told me I can have a large glass of sugary pop the night before surgery, something to look forward to.
All the best with your surgery :)

Congratulations on completing this stage. For me, I had my last Opti for dinner, finished drinking water by 7 a.m. (I was surprised at this and said I could even have a morning coffee, then had my surgery by 1:30 p.m. (two hours later than scheduled). I wish all centres followed the same process and note many differences in one's journey depending on what hospital's bariatric program they are following.
I'm so excited for you and wish you the very best.
