day 3 of puree
well its been nice to taste meat again.
omg baby-food is the bane of my existence. we bought 2 jars, it is vile. the chicken and broth is gritty and gross. flavorless. i am hoping to get some real chicken Monday and puree it myself.
i have had ribs well rib meat pureed. with a bit of diluted bbq sauce. no dumping hooray though i worry that that is a bad sign. i dont want to be one of the people who dont get it.
i mean i had it a bit with the applesauce. but I didn't have a problem with the bbq sauce. i worry. I know dumping is awful but it would be nice to have the guide to keep me in line. lets face it if i had the best ever self control i wouldn't have been in this mess.
i had soup pureed and i was surprised to find that tim hortons broccoli soup is full of woody stems. they didtn blend but luckily i ate super slow and avoided the solid bits.
i am just happy to be moving on.
one of my wounds was bleeding last night. it is one i am worried about it is heavily bruised and looks not infected but not happy like the rest of them. my sister *a doctor Said that it was fine just bruised but it worries me. like i said no infection but a lot of bruising. the lower left one. anyone have this too?
anyway mostly checking in. sorry i havent been on more. to much going on and still in pain ( also normal according to the nurse from TWH who said that i could have pain in my incisions for 4-6 weeks
Cheers all
I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday!

I'm sorry you're still in pain. I had a lot of pain too.
One of my incisions (the lower left one where the surgeon did the most work) was heavily bruised and took longer to heal than the others. No infection at all for me, thank God, and no bleeding. Maybe call your centre?
There are sugar free BBQ sauces out there but they're hard to find so I googled sugar free BBQ sauce recipes and found several that I tried.
Baby food is really vile; pureeing your own food tastes so much better. I liked pureed chicken with hot sauce and plain Greek yogurt for a hot wing type of flavor.
Good luck!

I am pre-surgery date...lol so I have no idea how good it must feel to have meat. I am a huge meat eater and can only imagine how awesome it will be.
I know that TWH tells you that baby food is a good alternative however it is VILE. I would much rather do my own pureeing than what is offered in those little innocent looking jars.
As for the bruising and I would be worried but that is just me. When I had my lap band put in the incisions all seemed to heal at the same time. Maybe, just a thought, you are more active on that side?
Keep up the good work and I hope you keep us updated. I live vicariously through the posters on this board as I eagerly await my surgery date/surgery.
