Sorry you were disappointed with finding out you were sleeved over the RNY. It's so heavily, pushed, I really do think they should educate us equally on both surgeries.

Having said that, I was sleeved back in March, and I knew and wanted it.

I know you maybe disappointed with having the sleeve, but it is still a very useful tool. I've been very happy with my weight loss since surgery (99lbs since opti, 83 lbs since surgery, 115 lbs overall).

Again, the weightloss between the surgeries evens out over 18-24 months. My social worker at my center center says she doesn't find that much difference between weight loss at the six month post op class she does.

I've had no complications, no food intolerances, no dumping (not common in VSG, but can happen) no acid refulx (knock on wood lol). It's still a great tool, and you will find it very useful.

I think you will come to love your new tool in time, it's just an adjustment.
