Orientation

Good Morning,

I was just wondering how everyone received their notification for the orientation? Was it a phone call or email? How soon after referral did you receive the orientation info?

I was referred around February 20th and received a letter in the mail the beginning of April whi*****luded a questionnaire that had to be returned within one week. The letter also included my orientation date of June 7th, which I had to call and RSVP to. I was referred to TWH so not sure if it's different elsewhere.

I received mine by mail as well approximately 6 weeks after referral.

I am also with St. Joe's in Hamilton. I was referred March 2017 by Wharton Medical Clinic, had my orientation in May. They called me with the date and time. They seem to be moving along quite nicely so as long as you can be flexible with your appointments, you'll sail through. On a side note, do call the clinic for cancellations- it can move your appointments up quite a bit.

Hi, I'm in Ottawa and I had called the clinic about a week after referral and they told me I'd get a letter in 7-14 days with an invite. I ended up getting a phone call later that week with an orientation date the following Friday. I didn't get a questionnaire, just a folder at orientation. (BMI Clinic)

I am in Hamilton as well. I was referred in May 2016 and had my orientation July 4 2016. I just had my surgery last week. As for notification, they sent me a notice in the mail.

My original referral went to TWH in June and I received a letter about 5-6 weeks after with an Aug 16 orientation date. When I called to confirm orientation date I found out I could be switched to Hamilton so they said they would transfer me there. The very next day I got a call from Hamilton, but orientation was a much longer wait - it will be October 30th.

My referral was sent on a Monday, and I got a call from my clinic that Thursday to schedule orientation. I've heard of people waiting months, and I have heard of people waiting only a few weeks like I did. I'm in Ottawa. Seems like a big guessing game for most of us.

So just an update....I got a call from the center and I am booked for orientation on Dec. 4th.
