First day on Opti and broth question

I made home made chicken soup stock as was told as long as I skim off all of the fat, I could have 2 or 3 cups a day. I usually had 1-2 cups per day as I went through the process in winter and was constantly cold from the opti, which I could only tolerate if it was made with ice water and ice.

I tried adding various SF flavors to the opti but found they made it too sweet for my liking. A bit of cinnamon spice in the vanilla was good though.

At our pre-surgery class we were told we were allowed 20 combined calories worth of sugar free jello and broth.

I personally don't have a problem with the Opti. I used to use Vega and it tastes quite similar to me. I have been trying out some things just so it is not the same thing every drink. I tried a dash of peppermint extract and it is really good. It leaves the cool after taste which is a nice change. Just note that as with all extracts, peppermint is very strong so you do not need a lot.

As for the broth it is the total of 20cal a day for all non-opti drinks/additives and in Hamilton we can also have up to 2cups of specific vegetables.

Thanks for all the responses, everyone!

I ended up emailing my nutritionist at TWH and explained the "too much sweet" issue, and she gave me the go ahead for 3 servings a day, which is what I initially was hoping for, so it all worked out.
