What are you eating/doing Friday?
Post Op RNY 17 mos
Wahoooo it's Friday! We are leaving tomorrow for a weeks vacation (finally) We've rented a cottage on a lake up north. About a five hour drive tomorrow after we get everything loaded into the truck. It will be so relaxing, fishing, reading, hiking the doggies. Aw....will be tough putting the whole day in at work.
Accountability - on plan!! Stuck to my guns!
I'm not sure on lunch yet, as I think I am going out. If not I will just make a run to the grocery store and grab something meaty from the food bar.
B - 1 egg, 2 slices bacon, 1 slice 35 calorie toast
S - yogurt and 2 oz blueberries
L - ??
S - deli turkey and cheese roll ups (4 slices turkey, 1 slice cheese)
D - chicken wings (maybe 4)
Have a great day everyone. I may not be around much next week!
Good morning :)
TGIF. I don't usually say that -- as a student the days of the week kind of blend together but now working M-F its a new game. Tomorrow I'm going across the border to stock up on high protein foods that will be easy to toss in my lunchbag in the morning. I had bought what I thought was dried cheese sticks when I was in Georgia but I reread the ingredients this morning and it has flour and stuff added. Thankfully it is just a small pack to try.
This week has been awful for extra food and snacks being in the office kitchen. I try to stay out of there so I keep my lunch bag at my desk. Yesterday someone brought in a huge box of hot apple fritters from the market. So the scale hates me and I hate the scale ;)
Post-op two years, six months.
Breakfast - protein shake
Snack - egg, yogurt
Snack - chicken
Snack - turkey sausage
Snack - pepperoni, cheese
Dinner - meaty sauce and veg
Snack - protein shake if needed
All water and vits.

Still playing around with this menu, will probably readjust as the day goes on to at least try and get more cals in. Got some Xylitol from the store the other day and I want to try and experiment with making some sugar free zucchini bread, so I've accounted for those macros. Been wrestling with the idea of raising my net carb count. My NUT wants me at 75 net carbs daily and right now I try to aim for 50. I know carbs are a bit of controversial subject, but I want to see if it will help with my energy levels a bit. Had a homemade bran muffin last night and woke up this morning feeling pretty good energy wise, but that might be totally anecdotal lol. In any case, will start out will small amounts and assess. Starting to think that super low carb just may not be right for me and I need a more balanced diet.

Thank you very much! :) I can't take all the credit though - MyFitnessPal does all the hard work for me, lol! It's honestly a great app and has been a huge lifesaver for me postop to keep track of my eating and to make sure I'm hitting protein targets everyday. It's also really insightful because it gives you a good idea of how many calories are in common foods and lists serving sizes so you can understand portion sizes better as well. My advice for using MFP would be to get the mobile app for sure! It is 100x faster to set my menu and log my food using the mobile app, so that has become a critical tool for my success. The app also has a nifty barcode scanning feature where you can use your phone camera to scan the barcode of any item you pick up from the grocery store, so it'll automatically transfer the nutrition information label to log the macros for you in your diary! Hope that little tidbit helps :) The app makes it really fun to track your food intake and I actually really enjoy creating menus each day this way! Good luck!
I really do need to get back into this and get my butt in gear and stay on track....
I've been letting in to much junk.. I still need to lose about 15lbs from regain and carby goodies aren't going to help that.
Today I'm completely off track - second week of school and I'm already behind on homework! :o
Ran to the store yesterday and they had absolutely nothing useful. all veggies were on the edge of expiring, no cheese, nothing! so going to grab a few things after school today. Main problem is I don't know what I want to eat... nothing appeals to me.. i get hungry but there's nothing I want.... then I just end up eating what's on hand and quick...
today is bad
B- bacon egg breakfast sandwich from TIm's
L 1oz parm, I think it was 5oz leftover roast.
S - part of a muffin
D - to be decided
S - Iced coffee minus the sugar.
TGIF! crazy at work today. have a get together for the soccer coaches tonight... my MIL is taking the kid to the cottage so hubby and I are free this weekend! Date night!

B-chia pudding and fruit
L-protein oat muffin
