Good morning Ginny and all,

Great weekend. Beautiful weather, gots lots of work done around the house, and read my Kobo on the back porch in the glaring sunshine. Hope this keeps up until November.

Had a bit of a plateau, as per usual, then dropped three pounds on the weekend and hit the 80 lb. mark. I told my husband to start thinking about what treat I get for 100 lbs and he told me "a new you" - he so funny (and accurate). I replied, "I'm already there Honey", and it's true. Every day, every pound, every day I do something I had difficulty in doing before - I know I am the new and improved Linda and I am grateful.

As an aside, I was sorry to hear that a member thought from other members' comments that the surgery would be easier than it was. As encouraging and positive as I try to be, I have learned that it is challenging, is a day-to-day commitment to the process, and I still have good days and bad days - physically, mentally and emotionally.

I was told recently, when I told a friend of a friend about my surgery - hence my weight loss (I thought she had already been told and chose to be honest), "Oh, I thought you would have done it on your own." I walked away, hurt and saddened by the comment. And angry that I hadn't responded, "That's exactly what I am doing!" No shortcuts here - just a process that works if you work it.

Boy, am I chatty - sorry.

S - 1/4 protein bar

L - 3/4 cup 1% cottage cheese

S - 1/4 protein bar

D - 6 chicken meatballs

S - 1/2 cup of Skyr with fresh blueberries

I think I'm getting sick for the first time since surgery. I've been sneezing like crazy and cold. Dreading this but better to be getting sick now than in 2-3 weeks when I start my new job!

I spent the weekend at the arena. My son is in hockey tryouts. They do them in the fall for his age still. They played a game yesterday and they did really well - won 7-3! They have 2 more tryouts before selecting the team then practices and a tournament in Glanbrook on the 22nd of this month. Will start to get busy again soon.

His friends are playing against each other tonight and he was saying he wanted to go watch BUT he wasn't feeling well this morning (no call from school yet) so we will see if he goes. He starts cross country tomorrow (can't he say no to any sport?) so I'd like to get him to sleep at a good hour since he's to be at the school for 8:25am tomorrow and he didn't even get up until that time today. Plus he has another tryout tomorrow.

Made freshly baked croissants for the family yesterday and brought one for myself today. was able to work it into my macros, but will be pushing my boys to eat them all quickly so the temptation is gone.

Chia pudding recipe please. I know it's a staple for you and I'm trying to add other protein-rich foods that are (may be) easy to prepare in advance.

Thanks TH,

Linda

Super easy. (Makes 2 servings)

1 premier protein (i use vanilla)

3tbs chia seeds

2tbs vanilla premier protein powder

(I add 2tbs miralax obviously optional)

i stir with a small wisk. It usually starts to set up a bit within minutes. I often add a sprinkle of salt which enhances the sweet flavour.

then I add whatever fruit I want. Lately I've been doing strawberries peaches and blueberries. In the early days it was apple and cinnamon. Sometimes I add flavouring like caramel. I've even added a tiny sprinkle of berry crystal light to give it even more berry flavour.

I let it sit overnight in the fridge and eat the next day.

Earlier on you probably need to split into 3 or 4 servings depending on your capacity.
