Hello,

I'm sorry if you felt that everyone was saying that it was easy; as it is not. Nothing about this process is easy - it is indeed a rollercoaster and your body adapts as you go through the process. I had complications and it was especially tough, but going through all of it has made me stronger and the benefits from the surgery has made it worth it.

It does get better and the pain is far more manageable being laproscopic. You are doing extremely well and your recovery will be as individual as you are. Keep positive, keep motivated and keep focused; you WILL succeed.

Thank you Linda. I'm sorry to learn you had complications. You definitely are strong. I suspect you always have been, and the surgery allowed you to see that in yourself, and also be the beacon of support I have come to know you to be.

Thanks for all your encouragement.

Wow...sounds like you are doing great! You've had huge successes! I can relate to the emotions and periods...i had mine, day of the surgery. it may continue to yo-yo for a bit. Mine seems to have settled and only now gotten predictable again at around 10 months post op.

I remember those early days when you are dying to have actual food again. Just a caution to tread lightly in those waters. I fantasized about having a hard boiled egg and then I did and boy did i regret choosing such a dense food early on, i think it was months before I tried an egg again. it is a learning process.

Also, don't rush your protein shakes either. I once gulped my premier protein, which was my first dumping experience. Just one big gulp. I did it two days in a row before I realized what it was. no more gulping for me...and no dumping since.

Thank you for your encouragement and your warnings! As much as I fantasize about real food, I am living out those fantasies planning meals i can have at later stages. I do not plan to move this along one inch faster than i should. I figure I did not wait this many years to get the surgery (I had contemplated it for about 8 years before I decided i was ready) and i didn't go through all the trouble of slicing up my insides to "do it my way". If I knew the right way, why bother with the surgery? Nope... I'm listening to the experts and the vets on this one!!! :)
