Kitchens of India Butter Chicken Sauce
Hi All,
I posted about my shopping finds a couple of weeks ago and finally got around to trying out some of my finds.
Tonight was butter shrimp over cauliflower rice. It's like I have died and gone to heaven.
I'm a bit of a foodie, and indian food snob, to be completely honest but I was blown away by this sauce.
I used the Green Giant cauliflower rice and the texture was perfect and so easy to prepare. The sauce was spiced appropriately and was very aromatic. Fairly low carb, low fat - it's all good.
What a treat!

That sounds divine!!!
I was just speaking with one of my best friends who happens to be East Indian, and "put in my order" with her for a week and a half from now. Haha. Foods I am so excited to have once I enter the puréed stage!
She's going to make me homemade daal (chickpeas), poached tandoori chicken thighs so I can purée them easily, and raita (cucumber yogurt- made with 0% yogurt and extra finely grated cucumber).
For now... still liquid diet!!
Enjoy your meal. It sounds amazing. :)

I want all of that!! lol
Love Indian food! Sounds amazing.
I'm also starting to fantasize about my new pouch and what I can eventually cook for it. Always keeping in mind my family needs to eat too so how to adapt everything. Should be an interesting journey.

I wish I had suggestions for you! I think eventually (experienced folks: correct me if I'm wrong pls) you can eat the same things... really just limiting carbs and sugars. But otherwise, I think the goal is real food. It's just the 10 weeks getting to that point!
Oh this journey!!!

Yes, I think that's it. Lower on the fats, cut the carbs, and avoid all sugar. So like shepherds pie with califlower purée instead of mashed potatoes on top. Or Italian minus the pasta. It may be a long ten weeks and then still a long learning curve as to what our pouches will and won't like, and how our tastes might change but I'm actually looking forward to it. I figure my family will add carbs if they like (pasta, sandwich bread, tortillas, potatos, rice etc) and other than that we can share most meals. Who knows, maybe they'll end up cutting the carbs too! My partner is diabetic but not insulin reliant and my son is just nearly 3 so we could all benefit from proper eating habits!
