Newbie :). Tips on moving through/expediting the process?
I liked Dr Wharton and wished I went to him much sooner than I did. No other doctor or nutritionist I met was pro WLS but after much hesitation I finally went to Dr Wharton. He was the first medical professional I've met with who I felt was aware of the challenges and factors at play with someone of my BMI (over 55) and I really wish I'd heard the things he told me from someone else much sooner. C'est la vie! I think if you want to lose weight prior to surgery and would like some monitoring than Wharton could be helpful but if you've made up your mind then you could just get the referral. Dr Wharton is straight forward and I think some people don't like that approach. Personally I prefer to hear the truth and not be handled with kid gloves and in turn lead astray when WLS is and was the best solution for my issues losing weight and keeping it off. Hope that helps!

It's both! Lots of non WLS patients go there as well. Just depends on your weight and weight loss goals. They offer other forms of non surgical treatment and food addiction classes as well.
