I'm sry to bother you all but can anyone she'd some light on how to apply for ei.
And what wait period is from when I apply to when I will get a first cheque .and approx how much it is..
That is really adding to my anxiety...and I need to budget it out somehow..

I honestly don't know... I do know the ppl at EI are great! (I work with out of work clients to help them find new employment, so my clients call EI regularly and tell me how helpful they are.)
You might consider calling them tomorrow and inquiring. Let them know you have surgery coming up in a few months although you don't have a date, and you are looking for information now to be prepared. No doubt they will walk you through it step by step.
