Need help with perking up and flavouring Optifast

Hi just call me Dee, I will be starting my Optifast August 21st/2017. I would love to hear some of your ideas please on what you used to perk up your shakes. I read one person added pumpkin spice to the Vanilla shake, I am hoping for some more great ideas please. I have a good assortment of extracts caramel, banana, coconut and I even found birthday cake extract. I was so excited to find birthday cake extract because my birthday is on August 26th, so needless to say I will have birthday cake for my birthday! I know it will be in liquid form but I don't care lol. Can't wait to hear some of your great ideas to help get through the Optifast part of my journey! Thank you and take care!

I bought some sugar free flavored syrups from the low carb grocer website and used those a lot. Caramel was my favorite! I also added MIO raspberry to the chocolate occasionally. :) Good luck!

Hi Sheacat, I can't thank you enough for your help about the low crab store! I looked it up and there is a store right in the same building as my Rheumatologist office that I go to! Thanks again and take care!

When I went through an optifast program previously, I found 0 calorie flavoured waters (PC brand I think?) that were peach, raspberry, and orange flavours. I used those super cold, well mixed with the vanilla powders, and I felt like I was drinking a creamsicle. I also liked to add instant coffee to the chocolate ones, perhaps a cold decaf brew would give you an iced latte kinda feel?

Give those a shot if any of the flavours appeal!

I never did optifast, but I do do chocolate premier protein with a double or triple shot of decaf espresso in it from starbucks.

I used to add PB2 to it to get a peanut butter flavour.

also you may want to check amazon.ca for baking emulsions...you can get strawberry, raspberry, I've seen coffee, red velvet cake, gingerbread, cream cheese, pumpkin spice etc...

I just added Mio or Crystal Light flavorings to the Optifast. I actually didn't mind them with out flavorings at all. I just added lots of ice and blend it really well. The texture is much smoother after I put it through my blender. Good luck!!

I looked at all the sugar free syrups but I thought the bottles just looked too big. I didn't want to be wasteful. Stick with basics keep it simple. I was able to get all 4 in day, 1 at 6 am another at lunch (noon) one at 3:00 and the other between 6&7 I put decaf instant coffee in my morning shake with a splenda and sometimes I put coconut extract in my vanilla or cinnamon and peppermint in with my chocolate but mostly I just enjoyed them plain. Make sure they are super cold - 5-6 ice cubes with cold water. Enjoy this phase. It is the easy part.... I am day 3 post opp and trying to figure out how to to the liquid diet.....
