Bummed

I've been patient. And waiting 7 months for my first appointment with surgeon at Humber. I've been preparing and psyching up for it. It was to be tomorrow. It has now been cancelled. It's for a good reason, the surgeon has an emergency to attend to, so I understand, but I'm still bummed. Hopefully, they will call soon and rebook me. Hope springs eternal.

Let me tell you that I completely understand where you're coming from. I finished all my appointments last September and then was disappointed to not get in to see the surgeon until the end of November. But then, in November TWH cancelled all the surgeon appointments for the rest of the year. My appt was rescheduled to Jan 8. It seemed like a lifetime to me. Then I was able to transfer to Guelph for surgery. Met the surgeon in December and had my surgery on January 12. Guelph ended up being a much better option for me so I am very pleased with how it all worked out.

Anyway, the point of my story is that it will work out for you too. Good luck. :)

I went through TWH however they told me at my pre-op if the surgery had to get cancelled not to worry they will schedule you in very quickly...it's not like you have to go to the end of the line again or anything like that. I know it must be so disheartening but it will be here before you know it.

Oh no, that is really disheartening. I totally get how excited you must have been, and then how bummed you are now.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. This is such a roller coaster of a process and i hope you are rescheduled very soon and can get this moving quickly.

If you don't hear from them quickly, consider giving them a call and inquiring.

I know it is frustrating to get the first meetings because you get great info and you know where you stand medically... but try using this time to practice ... learn about nutrition, your body and yourself more. Trust me it goes by fast. I try to be positive ... it helps me deal with stuff... I said try...lol...

I think it is on another forum but from Guelph a lady had just finished her opti and the day before surgery it got cancelled because the surgeon was ill. It was rebooked within a few weeks. Yes, so totally frustrating but don't give up. It will happen and it will be awesome.

I was rebooked for next Friday so that's good and all of your kind replies lifted me up. This also made me realise that I can't wait for other things to happen before I make changes. So I'm making changes that are healthy for me. And I'm going to finish unpacking from moving last year... yes I still have about 10 boxes sitting like an iceberg in A spare room. Thank you again.

Glad to learn you have your appointment rebooked already... and that you have new resolve for some healthy changes in your life, including some decluttering. Way to go!!! You'll feel much better for it. :)
