I'm in Ottawa! I had my first appointment at TOH, but they transferred me to the BMI clinic . I have my orientation tomorrow :)

Hello!

I am almost 6 months out from RNY with Dr. Neville in February :). She was super nice, both before and after. My surgery and recovery couldn't have gone better. Hopefully will be the same for you!!

I met the surgeon (Dr. Popavich?) on Jan. 17th and bought my Opti at the same time, and was told surgery dates were in 6-12 weeks. They asked if I wanted to be on standby for cancellations and I agreed.. I got the call on Jan. 27th that they had an opening on Feb. 16th! I had to start Opti the next day (so I did 3 weeks minus a day of Opti).

2015: Jan. 16, Info session - Apr. 20, Initial Assessment - Jun. 4, Abdominal ultrasound - Jun. 26, Endoscopy - Aug. 4, Dietitian and Behaviourist - Aug. 23, Endoscopy #2 2016: Jul. 11, Pre-surgery 1 class - Oct. 24, Second Assessment - Dec. 7, Dietitian and Behaviourist 2017: Jan. 10, Pre-surgery 2 class - Jan. 17, Meet the surgeon - Jan. 28, Start Opti - Feb 16, Surgery! (Dr. Neville, Ottawa Civic)

5'11 -- HW: 318 (sz 24/3x ; BMI 44.4), Start Opti: 307 (sz 22/2x; BMI 42.8), Pre-RNY: 292

So glad that you have come out of the shadows.

My name is Sandra (Mahalo). I am almost 7 months out. Had my RNY January 4th. I am down 106 lbs. I am the person who organizes the Ottawa area meetings. We are meeting again August 14th, 2017 @ 6:30 Second Cup on Merivale just across from the Metro/Homesense.

We have a pretty amazing group so far. We are all at different stages of the journey. A few pre ops, & quite of few at different stages post op.

You are going to love Dr. Neville. She is amazing & kind. Hands my favourite surgeon @ the Ottawa Hospital.

You will probably get a date a few days after your appointment.

Thanks Sandra! I look forward to joining for an upcoming meeting, that's my end of town and it seems like a good crowd!

I tripped over every baby toy in my house running to the phone since I met her. Still no call yet, but you give me hope saying it'll be just a few days! Fingers crossed.
