Signed Consent Form Today! Now the wait

Hello! So I met with the surgeon at St. Joe's Hamilton today. I signed everything, was given my prescription scripts and have my name on the list to get a surgery date. Unfortunately Hamilton does not have their September OR schedule so they could not give the date. Apparently because I am a longer surgery due to the band removal, I am looking at late September/early Fall for a date so they can fit me in. Megan also told me she has about 90 surgeries on the list to be booked as soon as she gets the OR schedule.

Looks like it is just a bit of a wait to get the date, then wait for the surgery. The plus is I found out I only have 2 weeks of Opti which is great since I was warned I might need 3 because of my liver!

Thank you! I know this wait is nothing to the wait between referral and orientation and orientation and the pre-nutrition class. Time will fly but when you are rolling forward you just want to keep with the momentum. We all have our annoyance with parts of the process but I suppose it is happening for a reason.

We all want it done!!! I get it. I have to be patient too. I'm still trying to move my "meet the surgeon" up from October. I've been really lucky so far, I know! That just seems so far...

I had all the patience in the world as I was going through the process of completing the four appointments and learning about RNY and overall weight loss surgery options. Then, when I was done, my patience ran out and I awaited the call for the pre-surgical booking. It's hard and nerve wracking - but so worth the wait. 2 weeks of Opti is great!

Keep making changes so that when you have to get strict with both the Opti prior to surgery and the eating plan after that you are ready - body, mind and soul.

Exciting news!

That's great news, and so exciting. I know the wait seems long but time passes whether we're waiting or not anyway, or at least that's how I tried to look at it.

Fall will be here before you know it; summers always seem to fly by so quickly.

Pre-Op Visit: Jan. 10, 2017, weight 304, surgeon: Dr. David Lindsay, St. Joe's, Toronto

1st Day of (3 weeks worth of) Optifast: Jan. 11, 2017

Surgery Date: Feb. 1st, 2017

Great News!

I was wondering what the wait time would be like for surgery. I will be having mine done at St. Joe's in Hamilton as well and I was getting a bit concerned as I seem to be flying through the process very quickly. I was hoping for a November or early December date and I may be on track for that. Anything earlier was going to cause me work issues.

Keep us posted.
