One year surgiversary
Didn't get to posting about it on Saturday because I was away on a road trip, but it was my one year surgiversary. Officially down 111 lbs post sleeve. Still have a ways to go, about 35 lbs according to the hospital, but really happy with my progress.
Made it into Onederland and am the lightest weight I have been since age 13. Down from a 24/26 at my heaviest to a 14/16/XL now depending on the brand. Lots of NSVs ... no more seat belt extender on a plane, and mostly fit regular sizes now, not plus. Even my feet are down a half size!
Totally worth the work and the process, best decision I ever made for my health. Really grateful I had no complications and that we live somewhere where this procedure is available to us for no cost.

Getting there. I think the biggest thing I still have to work on is my own body image ... still not really seeing myself for the size I am now. A friend brought over some clothes she thought I might like while I am still in transition and I told her there was no way they would fit. She said they would. Sure enough, everything but one thing did. It's a process. I think the mental part is way harder than the physical one.

Hi Betty,
I haven't seen you on the site lately and was wondering how you were doing. Congratulations on your one year! I agree totally that this is the best decision I have made for my health and although there are challenges, the benefits far out way anything that I have dealt with so far.
I believe you could write a huge list of NSVs along with your size and measurement differences. I feel like a teenager again - but with brains! - lol.
Best of luck on your continued journey.
Linda
