Question: When was your first stall? - Cross-post

I am curious as to when most people saw their first stall on the scale.

I am on day one of week 6. Week 5 (according to my centres protocol) is the first week of soft diet, which for us means no more pureeing everything . Week 5 resulted in a loss of 0.2 lbs for me. I weigh daily and my week looked like a yo-yo. I'm hoping this is just my body adjusting to the food change, but I'm curious if others experienced this around this time too.

Thanks in advance.

I guess it depends on what your definition of a Stall is. To me a true stall or Plateau would be over 3 weeks or so with no change.

I have not experienced that yet as I am just a bit further out than you but around weeks 3-->6 I did feel that my body was resetting itself and my scale was a bit of a yoyo too. The stress of surgery, the drop in calories etc all sends it mixed messages so I think it just needs time to adjust to the new reality.

I am 9 weeks out now and have seen a couple of big drops on the scale (3 lbs at a time) over the last couple of weeks. The weeks seems to go same-- same ---same ---same -- drop --up a bit ---drop back down --same--.......

I didn't stall until about 6 months out

I had roughly almost 2 weeks around week 6 where I did not drop - the scale just fluctuated upwards - this drove me bonkers. In June I "only" lost 7lbs but this month alone I have already lost 5.9lbs - so its going much better! I am grateful for the losses - big or small because before I was not losing anything.

I haven't had a stall as defined here (scale stays the same for 3 weeks or more) but on week 13 I lost 0 Lbs for the first time (I only document my weight on Wednesdays). That was the beginning of month 4 and it was my lowest loss month wise too, because of that 0. Thankfully month 5 picked up again, and so far the first two weeks of month 6 have been fantastic; even better than 4 and 5.

I did notice a change when I transitioned from food stage to food stage.

I'm almost 17 weeks out (I think...getting close to 4 months out). I have been very lucky that I have yet to have a stall. My lowest week loss, was 1.9lbs, although I think that might change this week.

I've stopped the daily weighing of myself, because it was driving me crazy. I'm trying to do it once a week (I do it on Wednesdays), but I usually do a sneak peak on the weekend...as of Sunday I was only down .4 lbs so my loss tomorrow might not be all that great.

It varies person to person regarding stalls. Some people don't get them as they lose weight (lucky them), but I would say most do at some point. I have lost weight in the past and had them, so I expect my day will come too.

I think when I transitioned to soft foods, my weight loss was a bit low for a week or two, but I think that's normal.

Good luck to you.

I lost consistently from 330 to 140 about 10 months in. I lost my mind as it lasted for 9 weeks. Kept trying to focus on the photos I had taken to remind me how far I had come, review the inches lost and he new mall sizes in the closet. My surgeon's office told me to change up my eating and work outs and I will start losing again.

A lot of times the body loses it's mind and fights you all the way, even with surgery. I KNEW I was eating right and working out and doing all the right things. While it was the longest wait of my life once it started again it never stopped. So hang in there
