Today is a full day in the office (till 6pm). Then I have to meet a friend of mine that made cookies for the kids teachers so I have to go pick those up after work. Other than that nothing is going on tonight so I'd like to go swimming and relax!

Hi Jo,

What is the nectar I often see on your log?

And what? You aren't baking the cookies yourself? (My daughter does my baking, either Elyse or M&Ms) - lol But I do think about baking ... a lot.

It's the synthrax nector protein powder. I find it hard to mix up in water but I want to get it used up. It has 24g of protein. It's like juice but minimal calories and a protein juice.

lol I can bake BUT I have no time at all anymore plus I hate doing dishes. My son has sports 6-7 days of the week and I'm hardly ever home. Plus they are decorated and well - I'm not that talented. My brother got the cooking/crafts gene and I got the sporty gene. So figure :)

Hi Menu friends,

I'm having a good bad day. Good because my best friend came in town for a short visit and it was great to see her, but bad because I'm not feeling well. It started yesterday. I thought I was just having what I've seen described as a "small pouch day" and couldn't eat my planned meals yesterday. It took me all day just to drink half a premier protein shake. I walked for 2 hours and felt OK, but not quite right. I've had a headache, neck ache and back ache for a few days so I just figured I wasn't used to pain any more (I used to have pain daily, preop).

I bought a food dehydrator and some steak and cut and marinated the steak overnight. I woke up feeling icky but was determined to get that steak into the dehydrator, but as I was prepping it, felt so nauseated. I ran upstairs but wasn't sick or anything, but my stomach was rumbling and angry. Not a hunger rumble, but more like an upset stomach thing. I felt dizzy and awful, so I think I may be getting the flu.

I'm feeling better now than I did this morning, but am having another small pouch day. It's already after 3 PM and I've only had half a protein shake, plus some decaf and more protein shake as whitener.

I'm going to try some yogurt in a bit to see if it helps, plus I was looking forward to the jerky, which should be done at around 4:30 or so, but may have to pass.

I only had 326 calories yesterday and only 45 grams of protein so I have to do better today, even if it means just having protein shakes and yogurt.

Sorry to ramble on; hope you all have a great day.

I'm sorry to hear that Kathy.

I thought my pouch wasn't accepting what I was eating as I introduced a stuffed green pepper into the mix. The abdominal pain I was feeling was the start of my kidney infection. Just a warning to monitor yourself and not assume that it is pouch related. It may be, and I'm not a healthcare professional. Just speaking from personal experience.

I hope you feel better soon. Eat, and do what you can. Keep hydrated and rest.

Oh, not fun to have a kidney infection. Yikes.

Yeah, I've been feeling off for a few days; I think I have a touch of the flu or something. I had the body aches and headaches and figured my back was sore from my long bike ride, but I think it's just my body fighting something off. I ate some Greek yogurt and that helped settle my stomach.

I'm in bed with my computer and some tea now, so definitely resting.

I hope you're feeling better.

That was three or four weeks ago now Kathy and I'm now just feeling great. I just wanted you to know that we tend to think any abdominal pain or nausea may be pouch related and that is not always the case as I stupidly misdiagnosed myself.

Feel better.
