5 month post op RNY update
Hi friends,
I'm 20 weeks out today...my gosh, time flies after surgery! I'm down 91.6 Lbs since starting Optifast.
I also turned 53 on the 19th of June, and had a lovely time. Here's a photo comparing my 52nd and 53rd birthdays:
My Mom is wearing the same top in both photos, lol.
When I look at the photos and see the differences, I'm shocked. I knew I've lost a lot of weight but had no idea the difference was so great. My face last year looked huge; my head was almost double the size of my Mom, as well as my body. That white T shirt I was wearing was a size 5X men's T-shirt that I bought at the Walmart last year, for bike riding. I can't believe I was able to ride my bike at that weight. It's so much easier now.
The pink top in this year's photo is a size XL, also from Walmart, and is a bit baggy. I have tops and bottoms in size Large now that fit perfectly.
Yesterday I was driving and singing along with the radio. The song, "I can see clearly now" came on, and as I sang, tears filled my eyes because all of the word**** home, but especially these ones:
"I can see clearly now, the pain is gone. All of the bad feelings have disappeared. Here is that rainbow I've been praying for. It's gonna be a bright, bright, bright, sunshiny day"
It's so true. I lived with pain daily, pre-op. Physical and emotional pain. I was depressed and anxious and full of shame and it's all gone. All of the bad feelings really have disappeared.
I only have to lose another 8.4 Lbs to reach my 100 Lb lost goal, and then another 4.1 after that to hit Onederland! I can hardly believe I'm this close!
And today really IS a bright sunshiny day, and after my dentist appt.; I'm going to go for a nice bike ride.
Thank you all for listening, and for supporting me on my journey.
Big hugs,
Kathy

Thank you so much, Wayne. No worries; it's not a real cake. It's a mini seedless watermelon "iced" with low cal coolwhip, decorated with berries. It was delish!
Mom is proud; she's not one to give compliments but yesterday she told me I look great and that this is the best thing I ever did for myself. I just about keeled over when I heard that, lol.
