I feel like I'm consuming too much...
I'm still on full fluids and I eat my recommended portions (sometimes less because I feel nauseous or something) but when I eat my creamed soups, I generally wait about a minute between (baby) spoonfuls. And my book from Guelph reccomends like 1/2 cup of soup, 1/2 cup of milk per serving. So, I am eating a cup. I feel full once I've finished and sometimes I take some breaks. But, generally, I finish the entire thing without issue. Is this normal? I feel like I don't have any restriction? Especially when I see that some can't even finish off 1/4 of a cup.
Hi there,
I am still pre-op, but I wanted to ask about your protein. At my group dietitian appointment this week, they stressed the importance of getting 60-80 grams of protein, and one of the ways to achieve that is to add a scoop of unflavoured protein to soup. It helps with feeling/being full.
Is this something you do? And are you getting in enough protein daily?
Wishing you much success!

I just pulled out my nutrition binder to see if what I was saying was accurate (I guess I should have done that first!). Partly yes, partly no. It looks like not until 5 weeks does TWH have you try to get the 60-80 grams of protein in, which makes sense - it would be too much right off the bat.
They do suggest adding some protein powder to foods though, as I mentioned. I am attaching a sample liquid diet menu in case you may find some ideas helpful. Of course, consult with your centre...
