Hi All,

Tomorrow Marks 4 months Post-Op for me. My weight loss has slowed a tad but I am still losing so it's all good. Recently I posted about the amount of yardwork I am able to do and complete now versus the old me and since then with the weather getting better, finally, I am progressing even more.

When I started this journey, one of the biggest goals I set for myself was to fit into a Kayak that my Wife and I purchased two seasons ago. She has enjoyed hers and My Daughter and her friends have been enjoying mine. You see, they (Kayaks) have a 300 Lbs weight Limit. My Starting Weight was 404 Lbs so I had to lose 104 Lbs before even considering fitting my butt into one. Well, not only did I do that, but I never EVER imagined I would lose that kind of weight just since Feb 8th when I had the RNY Done. 82lbs alone since surgery "OMG"

Well, we went camping this past weekend at Bonnechere Prov Park. Lovely place although the Bugs were pretty bad at times, but mostly just an annoyance more than a bother over the weekend. So, here it is..A photo of the scale the morning we left for Camping (Friday June 2nd) and the other two photos speak for Themselves. My Wife is in the 3rd photo. She has been my Rock and very supportive through this journey of mine. I am lucky for sure.

Note: When I originally stepped on the scale it said 299.9, I could not get that to appear again. As of today, I am at 305 again. Scales are up/down all over the place it seems

Sorry, Camera was in a waterproof Pouch, Photo is a bit fuzzy but it marks the moment I pushed off from shore, got my balance and then celebrated with a tear in my eye. Such an achievement for me that I have worked towards for a couple of years now.

Photo of my Wife and I out on the water.

As for everything else, I continue to enjoy gaining back my Mobility. Clothes continue to funnel towards the donation bin as I shrink out of them and my Back/Knees are so much better feeling.

I have been taken off Blood Pressure Pills, Xenical (Fat Blocker), Chloresteral Pills and most recently taken off of MetFormin since my Sugar Levels are all back to normal. I have two meds left...one of which My Doctor wants me to ask if I still need it when I see my specialist in August.

I am getting tons of work done around the house, I can actually not only wash, but I can wax and detail my vehicles again. Life is good, let's just put it that way.

That's it for now. Thanks for the support and interest in my journey :-)

Tanya, you're so patient. I remember reading your posts when I first started coming to the board. I can't believe you haven't already had surgery!!

It's definitely been a long time coming and if I had stayed with HRH I probably would have had it by now. However, I don't think I would have been ready mentally...so I'm glad with how things have played out. I've been taking a lot of the time to read, ask questions and of course work on the areas of eating/emotions that needed the work.

I don't think I will ever see Onderland. It's simply to small for a guy my size. If I hit 230lbs, I will feel like a string bean at that weight. LOL. I'll be happy to live comfortably in Twonnieville.

Never say never! My husband is 6'4 and weighs 165. He is a string bean with the world's fastest metabolism (I tell him I was going to steal half his thyroid) but it is possible. His muscles are long so he is still pretty strong but there not not really any fat on him. You could just pass into that Onderland though!

Wayne! We are all so super proud of you. I love hearing/reading your posts!

Even reading this post I got a tear in my eye because I understand where you are coming from! :)

Keep it going - you are doing amazing.

I also understand the annoyance of the scale as I've been in a stall since May 21st and had gained 2-4lbs depending on the day. This week I'm finally down that weight and back to the same weight as I was on May 21st. Which is great but now I only have a week and 2 days out of this month to get some more weight off because I'm not super excited about only losing 5lbs this month. It's a loss but still! Scales suck!!

Thank you Jo,

It's nice to chat with folks who have the same roller coaster of weight and emotions. I thought I would breakdown once I got in the kayak but alas, a few tears of happiness and then it was off to explore the Bonnechere River and Round lake. :-)
