Weight Management Clinic - Ottawa
Good morning :)
Running around today and a physio appointment. We went to the vet specialist yesterday and puppy 2 is going for surgery on Thursday. Thank goodness for pet insurance because the surgery quote is around $4,000.
Breakfast - protein shake
Snack - carrots and pb
Lunch - turkey sausage
Snack - egg, pickles
Dinner - ham, veggies
Snack - pudding
All water and vits.
Sending prayers for your pup. I will have to get pet insurance with my next dog. I had to pay over 10 thousand for my dog to have an MRI and surgery in Guelph, plus drive 10 hours there and back and I had to stay in a hotel for a week waiting for him to have everything done and recuperate. Plus all the vet costs here in town prior to heading to Guelph. It was worth it as Mac gained 5 extra, good years of life, but OMG, I could not afford that again. Will the insurance cover all or most of the cost of your dog's surgery?

Yeah, it was crazy; plus I spent another 8000 here in town at the regular vets (over a period of 6 months) before the vet gave up and told me I needed to take Mac to the Veterinary hospital/school in Guelph. It took me ages to pay off my credit card bill. It's good that it happened 6 years ago when I actually could do it; I couldn't do it now as I'm on a fixed income.
Crossing my fingers that the insurance will cover it.

Hi All!
Today I have one of my appointments. I will meet with the psychologist at the Bariatric clinic today. Looking forward to that!
Here is what I am eating today - pre-op.
Breakfast - scrambled eggs, blueberries, raspberries
Snack - green smoothie, almonds
Lunch - veggies and hummus
Snack - apple, pecans
Dinner - beef stew, salad
Hi guys,
Another gloomy day here; so much rain lately; wow!
Yesterday I walked for over 3 hours but it was mall and shop walking so not strenuous, but left me tired nonetheless. I tried on clothing and was thrilled to discover some Walmart size XL shorts and tops fit me! I also went to the beauty salon and for the first time in ages did the whole shebang; wash, cut, blowdry and style. It felt nice to get pampered, as I usually wash my hair first and go for a cut and leave with it still wet, to save money. I'm kind of mad at myself for spending the money on that today though, lol; I could have bought some outfits instead. I'm not sure what I'll do today; normally I'd go for a swim but my hair still looks nice from yesterday's style so I don't want to ruin it, lol.
Breakfast: Extra lean hamburger patty with thin cheese slice, cooked on the BBQ.
Lunch: Left over steak.
Dinner: Not sure, but some sort of protein with some green beans.
Snack: Strawberries.

Hey there everyone! This is my first official post here on ObesityHelp :) I have a profile on Bariatricpal where I post regularly but I really love the idea of doing these daily what are you eating/doing threads as a way to keep you in check. Looking forward to participating in them from now on!
An intro to myself - I had my VSG in September 2016 at Toronto Western. I started at 285lbs before Opti and I'm down to 185 now about 8.5 months out. Trying really hard to reach my goal of 150lbs, I feel like it's a mile away right now! :( Hoping I can make it!
I have an appointment tomorrow with the dietitian and psychologist because I've been struggling with my eating quite a bit. I really want to reach my goal weight and they're concerned I'm not eating enough. The past month I've been intentionally skipping meals to lower my calories and just generally trying to resist eating, and because of that I haven't been able to hit my protein goals and I know that's not good. I've also been restricting my carbs under 20g/per day to try and lose weight faster - I've been dealing with a lot of body image issues post op which is what's been causing this, so I hope getting the support I need at more follow up meetings will help me through this. Been a hard journey indeed but I need to remember how far I've come.
Anyways, here's what I ate today. Cals still a bit low but at least I hit the protein mark today!
B: cheesestring, 0.5oz pistachios, 1 oz mini sausages
L: 3oz chicken breast, 1.5oz raw spinach, 0.5oz feta cheese, some herb dressing and onion salad topping
D: 3oz greek yogurt, 1oz protein granola, 0.5oz peanut butter
684 calories, 16g net carbs, 60g protein
